The DAYS spoilers recap for Thursday, April 21, 2022, features some long-overdue comeuppance, coupled with a long-overdue confession.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Cook/Rizczech wedding will not be continuing as planned; the bride is otherwise engaged. And no, not to another man. She’s busy having her life upended by her seriously pissed-off baby sister.
First, Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) let everybody know that it was Gwen (Emily O’Brien) who clocked her over the head at the airfield and helped smuggle her onto that plane that was headed to DiMera island. Second, she revealed that it wasn’t Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) who broke Xander’s (Paul Telfer) heart, but rather Gwen in a Sarah Horton mask.
The best — worst? — Abigail saved for last. Turns out Gwen switched Rolf’s memory restoring formula for his brain-altering concoction and that’s why Sarah now believes herself to be all of 6 years old.
To say that the assemblage is horrified would be an understatement. Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) washed his hands of his firstborn, Xander called her a monster, and Jennifer Rose Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) even managed to squeak out a condemnation or two.
With nothing left to lose, and her hands in cuffs, Gwen saddled up to Abigail and confided another crime for which she’d yet to be exposed: “Your precious Grandmother…I killed that little bitch on purpose!”
Thanks to her ratting out of Gwen, Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) is a free woman — and to say that Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) are horrified would be an understatement.
Color Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) equal shades jealous and curious. Here Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) has got a roommate who can cook up a storm and dole out a massage like nobody’s business — two things that his missus will never do — but he insists that there’s nothing romantic, or at least sexual, going on between him and Ava. How can this be? A man and woman — platonic friends? Yeah, right.
Interested in putting Ben’s “man+woman must = lovers” theory to the test, Jake invited Ava to share his bed, on the condition that no hanky panky takes place. It’s a struggle, but the two seem to make it work.
Gabi is fit to be tied, and she doesn’t have a problem letting Melinda Trask (Tina Huang) know. In fact, she’s going to let a lot of people know. People like Mayor Abe Carver (James Reynolds). Maybe he’ll be slightly peeved to learn that the woman who framed the police commissioner for corruption is getting a free pass. Gabi may indeed be a bitch, as you so eloquently put it Miss Trask, but she’s also a BAD bitch. Watch. Your. Step!
