In the Days of our Lives recap for September 19, 2023, Shawn learned too late that two wrongs don’t make a right.
Days of our Lives Recap Highlights
In addition, Harris got Ava all hot and bothered while Tripp and Wendy found themselves in respective hot seats. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what happened.
Days of our Lives Recap: The Morning After The Night Before
Slowly but surely Shawn (Brandon Beemer) came to and took in his surroundings. Beside him, Talia (Aketra Sevillian) did much the same, and the duo were quick to agree that they very much should not have done what they did the night before.
Shawn was particularly sick at his actions, and he shouldered the blame for getting Talia into bed when he should have known better. Talia, for her part, insisted that she was just as responsible for the dalliance.
Turning to his phone, Shawn found six text messages and a voicemail and groused that Belle (Martha Madison) was probably suspecting him dead in a ditch somewhere. Talia recalled how Shawn had shared with her that he and Belle had a blow-up fight in the town square and that he’d thrown her affair with EJ up in her face. To that Shawn griped that he can no longer say that at least he never out and out cheated.

Downstairs, Belle met with Eric (Greg Vaughan) and agreed to steer him and Sloan (Jessica Serfaty) through the adoption process. With that bit of business concluded, the focus shifted to Belle’s relationship woes and she wondered if her fast ways were part of the reason that Shawn was drinking.
Later, Eric caught Shawn attempting to make a break for it, necessitating Shawn to come up with a cover story wherein he crashed in Jada’s (Elia Cantu) room while she and Talia were out for the night. Talia, who’d overheard the explanation, made sure to put on a show of “coming home after pulling an all-nighter” and meeting Shawn “for the first time.”
DAYS Recap: Pleasent Views
Over in Jolly Old England, a spiraling Ava (Tamara Braun) began to debate whether or not she and Harris (Steve Burton) had done the right thing in sneaking across the pond in an effort to locate Susan (Stacy Haiduk). After all, it might not have been wise of them to put much stock in her visions of Miss Banks, considering her history.
Harris did his best to cajole Ava, and when that didn’t do the trick, he scolded her like a child — and while that did give Ava pause, she didn’t thank Harris for it. However, she clearly did appreciate Harris getting half-naked in the lead-up to bedtime.
DOOL Recap: Sins Of The Mother
Meanwhile, back in Salem, EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) sort of confessed to Nicole (Arianne Zucker) that he’d hired Joyce to off Ava, and Nicole practically shrugged her shoulders in response.
Elsewhere, Tripp found himself hauled down to the Salem Police Department and subjected to intense scrutiny by Rafe (Galen Gering). Thanks to a tip-off from a neighbor, Tripp was forced to confess that he’d seen Ava and Harris the night previously — but he wasn’t sorry he kept mum.
In response, Rafe threatened to arrest him for obstructing the course of justice. Tripp was unmoved…but he did perk up when subsequent evidence uncovered by Jada resulted in Rafe declaring that he’d up the charges to aiding and abetting a fugitive.
Days of our Lives Recap: Hand In The Cookie Jar
As for Wendy (Victoria Grace) — having resolved to help Tripp and his mother in any way that she could — she made a beeline for EJ’s office and attempted to get a read on him by broaching the subject of Ava’s escape. When EJ took his leave rather than bite, Wendy busied herself with trying to unlock the cell phone he carelessly left behind. Unfortunately, EJ soon caught her in the act and demanded an explanation.
