The DAYS recap for Monday, November 7, 2022, sees a revenge scheme, orchestrated on the orders of a hallucination, set in motion — what could possibly go wrong.
In this episode, Susan Banks (Stacy Haiduk) awakens as a pawn in a dangerous game, Anna Fredricks DiMera (Leann Hunley) finds her services much in demand, and Sarah Horton Cook (Linsey Godfrey) does her utmost to reassure Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) that she and Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) will soon extract themselves from their untenable situation. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
In the DiMera crypt, “Charlie Dale” (Mike Manning) continued to steady Ava Vitali’s (Tamara Braun) hand and lead her down the garden path. Surely, she doesn’t want EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) to get away with treating her like dirt. Surely, she wants to make him pay, and to pay dearly. And what better way to accomplish her goal than ransom Susan and make it crystal clear to EJ just who it is that he’s paying off?
And while Ava’s at it, why shouldn’t she make a quick stop by Allie Horton’s (Lindsay Arnold) apartment on her way out of town and scoop up wee Henry? It’s not like Allie actually pays that much attention to the boy anyway. Ava would make a much better guardian for the babe.
But first things first. After ensuring that Xander had absconded with and safely deposited Susan in an out-of-the-way place — though why he’d term the Kiriakis estate’s summer garden shed out of the way is anyone’s guess — Ava placed a call to EJ and let him know that she was in possession of his precious “mum” and that he’d have to start playing ball — metaphorically speaking — if he ever wanted to see her again.
While EJ filled Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) in on Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (Richard Wharton) conditioning Stefan O. DiMera (Brandon Barash) to forget his love for Gabi Hernandez No Longer DiMera (Camila Banus) and amplify whatever he may have felt for Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin), Wendy Shin (Victoria Grace) and Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) were doing much the same to Anna, though they had no firsthand knowledge, just conjecture.

Knowing a thing or two about having one’s love for a DiMera man thwarted at every turn — Stefano did not appreciate Anna’s interest in Tony, not one little bit; so much so that he imprisoned Tony on an island for about 20 years in an effort to keep the two apart — Anna agreed to help the young sleuths in their effort to bring the truth to light.
To further that goal, Anna phoned unscrupulous pilot Ned Granger (Chris Kalhoon) and put on a whole song and dance about needing Rolf’s location because Tony had died — yes, AGAIN! — and she needed the madman to resurrect the love of her life.
Proving that wonders never will cease, Ned came through — Rolf was dropped off in Jakarta. With that, Wendy and Johnny booked themselves seats on the DiMera jet — surreptitiously, of course — and set a flight plan for Indonesia’s capital city.
Despite really leaning into the passionate clinch that Stefan pulled her into, Chloe finally put on the brakes and insisted that she just couldn’t continue on. She’s still too broken up over her breakup with Brady Black (Eric Martsolf), and nothing, not even the suggestion of a romantic getaway with Stefan, is going to make her feel better. Not yet, anyway. Things do change.
Unaware that her husband was out ladynapping Salem’s answer to Mystic Meg, Sarah talked up Xander’s chances at landing a suitable executive position in the hopes that it would quell Maggie’s fears — not to mention her own. Neither one seemed properly convinced, but they played along for the other’s sake.
