The DAYS recap for Tuesday, November 15, 2022, Chanel Dupree shattering any and all allusions that she’s the innocent victim in a frameup.
In this episode, Chanel (Raven Bowens) endures a grilling and cops to the crime of which she stands accused, Sloan Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) fills in another piece of the puzzle, Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) finds himself out on his ear, Alexander Neil Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) makes quite the impression, and Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) agrees to bypass the low road — for the time being. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.
While under questioning by D.A. Melinda Trask (Tina Huang), Chanel toed the line laid down by her counsel — at least until Melinda threatened to drag Paulina downtown and to make a big show of it just for funsies. Then Chanel was ready to play ball.
Luckily, Belle Brady (Martha Madison) was on hand to keep things from escalating to the extreme. Yes, Chanel did indeed identify a woman in a photograph as one Martha Bedford, but the interrogation was halted before she could answer whether or not was responsible for Ms. Bedford’s death.
While Belle and Melinda took their squabbling out into the middle of the cop shop’s main drag, Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) made her way into the interrogation room and set about comforting her completely innocent girlfriend — but Chanel had news to share: she wasn’t innocent in the slightest. She did kill someone. She’s really sorry about it, but it did happen. One assumes to the aforementioned Ms. Bedford.

Having slinked around town whispering poison into the ears of people like Gwen — who wanted nothing to do with the disreputable barrister who nearly railroaded her with false accusations — Sloan slinked into Paulina’s office and stunned the governor-elect with the news that there never was a mystery client blackmailing her in the hopes of reaping a huge reward. It was never about a payoff, but rather payback, and the person who wants payback is Sloan herself!
With Allie desperate to see Chanel, Alex stepped up in a major way by offering to babysit Henry — remember him? — and surprised even himself with the job that he did. Equally impressed was Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), who’d swung by to prep Allie for any and all questions that the paparazzi might throw at her and decided to stay just in case Alex needed a hand. The puppet show was a nice touch.
Though he didn’t mean to clear the way for Sloan to regain the upper hand in her vendetta against Paulina and Chanel, Leo was still expelled from Paulina’s queendom — and he did not go gently into that good night. In point of fact, he cursed Sloan for her hand in his woe, and let Paulina know in no uncertain terms that she’d rue the day she fired him. Rue it!
After retreating to a public bench and eating his feelings, Leo found sympathy from the least likely source: Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker). Sure, Leo did some terrible, awful, patently unforgivable things, but in this instance, he was innocent and hard done by, and Sonny appreciates that — so why not treat Salem’s answer to ‘Bob Crotch-it’ to a meal at the Brady Pub?
As The Intruder’s newest hire, Gwen is desperate to land a juicy exclusive, and thanks to Sloan, she’s got the makings of the juiciest one around. Enter Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), who appealed to Gwen’s better angels. Rather than print something salacious like “Damning Evidence Surfaces In Governor-elect’s Criminal Coverup,” why not blast Melinda for prosecutorial misconduct? That’s a story that will really sell.
