The Days of our Lives recaps for April 18 – April 22, 2022, feature a DAYS-astrous double wedding, long in coming comeuppance, the Devil on a mission, and much more.
Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) play catch up – he’s still a priest and just passing through town; she kicked EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) to the curb and is in a romantic relationship with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering); neither one is pleased to learn that Clyde Weston (James Read) is working at the pub, but Eric concedes that everyone is capable of change for the better.
When Nancy Wesley (Patrika Darbo) makes up her mind to attend Craig Wesley’s (Kevin Spirtas) wedding to Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart), Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) helps her create a dating profile in the hopes that Nancy can snag a plus one; Nancy makes a date with Clyde.
Much to Chloe Lane’s (Nadia Bjorlin) chagrin, and Craig’s delight, Leo signs a pre-nuptial agreement that will leave him penniless should he and Craig divorce… Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) is aghast to learn that Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) has been arrested and sets off to confront her.
Ava entices Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) with a little quid pro quo. Abigail will intercede on Ava’s behalf where D.A. Trask (Tina Huang) is concerned, and Ava will offer up the name of the person who not only attacked Abigail the night she was spirited away to DiMera island, but who committed several more heinous crimes. When Abigail blanches, Ava reveals that it was Gwen.
Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) agrees to be Chloe’s plus one to the Cook/Rizczech and Wesley/Stark ceremony; the pair also decided to go public with their coupledom… Leo confesses to Craig his former lust for Xander Cook (Paul Telfer). After getting a good look at Xander’s physique, Craig concedes that Leo had just cause… Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) get the goods on Leo.
Abigail catches Gwen attempting to enter the SPD interrogation room, and Gwen spins a story as to why she’s in the building to begin with… Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) is conscripted into giving Gwen away. Jennifer Rose Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) praises Gwen’s seeming quest for redemption. Later, Abigail explains to Jennifer that there’s more to Gwen than meets the eye.
Over coffee with Nancy, Clyde confesses his status as a parolee; Nancy appreciates his honesty. When the subject of Craig’s wedding is broached, Clyde encourages Nancy to attend the event solo; they agree to go on another, more intimate date.
The double wedding gets underway. Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth), having been alerted to the need for a drawn-out ceremony, does his best to comply. A shocking revelation is made – Leo can’t marry Craig, because he’s already the husband of one Darius Rose AKA Jackie Cox. The assemblage is horrified. When a further allegation is made – that Leo never loved Craig and only cared for his money – Craig exits stage left.
Gwen and Xander plan to carry on with their half of the vow exchange, but Abigail puts a stop to that idea.
Ava is granted full immunity in exchange for her testimony against Gwen, a fact which she delights in sharing with Rafe and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus). Gabi promises Melinda that she’ll rue the day they crossed her… Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) inquires as to whether or not Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) is interested in Ava; Jake hedges; he’s pleased by Ava’s good fortune.
Abigail pointedly reveals each and every one of Gwen’s crimes, including switching the drug that was supposed to restore Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) memory with one that caused her regression into adolescence. Jack and Xander denounce and abandon Gwen. Gwen stuns Abigail with the claim that she purposefully killed Laura Horton.

Ben and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) agree to call their baby boy Bo… Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) and Abe Carver (James Reynolds) give in to temptation and kiss, but he pulls away… TR Coates (William Christian) charms his way into Paulina’s affections. She remains unaware that he intends to bilk her for every cent that she possesses… EJ puts the kibosh on Clyde’s suggestion that get back into the drug-running business.
A possessed Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) gives Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) a glimpse into the outside world; he’s crushed to see Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) and Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) develop a flirty report. Next, “Allie” targets Ben and Ciara whom she drugs into stupors.
