Sarah Horton’s brain has gone through quite the scrambler on Days of our Lives lo these past few months. First, she was hit over the head. Then she was drugged and thought she was a long-dead woman.
Then she was drugged and thought she was herself at age 6. Then Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) was drugged and thought she was herself a year ago. Now she’s gotten her memory back. But does she really seem all there to you? Could she be a danger to, say, a recently stabbed dead woman? Or, you know, to herself?
Sarah will be fine as long as she stays on her meds, 44% of you insist. Yes, she’s had some…issues recently, but are you saying the good doctors of Salem Memorial Hospital don’t know what they’re doing? If they’ve certified Sarah sane, then she’s perfectly fit to be out in the world. Unsupervised.
We have no idea what’s going on in Sarah’s head, 28% of the audience points out. Her brain has been through the wringer, and she is not a good judge of whether or not she’s fit or functional.
Sarah needs to be monitored, preferably by a trained professional like Dr. Marlena Evan (Deidre Hall), but, if Marlena isn’t available, then at least by her mother, Maggie Horton Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers). Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) can’t be left to the task. He’s so happy to have his Sarah back and remembering him, he won’t do anything to rock the boat. Even if it puts his own life in danger.
Oh, she’s safe enough, an almost equal yet slightly less 28% disagree. So, OK, so she’s a little bit slappy, but that doesn’t mean she’s stabby. Every single soap character ever has gotten handsy. But not all of them have killed people. Which means Sarah is as sane as anyone in Salem.
