Does Days of our Lives Anna DiMera Deserve To Serve Jail Time?

Sure, Sarah Horton seems to be back to her old self on Days of our Lives — except for that little baby confusion, and Gwen is going to go to prison for kidnapping her and switching the antidote that would have restored her memories.

But Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) is still the one who injected her against her will. Which is still a crime, even if all is seemingly well that ends well. Does she deserve to pay for her crimes?

Leave our Anna alone, 75% of you insist! She’s no danger to anyone in Salem. Well, not of being injected by her, anyway. They may be in danger of having Anna babble at them or go on and on about her great love for Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis), or, if he dies again, hitting them with the urn of his ashes she keeps dragging around. But those aren’t criminal offenses. Just another day in the life of Salem.

Days of our Lives: Not Here, Not Now

Anywhere else in the world, attacking an innocent woman with a syringe full of poison might warrant more than a slap on the wrist — or, even, you know, a slap on the wrist. But this Salem. Rape, blackmail, murder, and kidnapping are misdemeanors, at best. So Anna will also walk, 19% assume. Even if she shouldn’t.

DAYS: Make Her Pay

Only 6% of the audience wants Anna to be made an example of. Sure, you can get away with rape, blackmail, murder, and kidnapping. But medicating someone without their permission? That’s where we draw the line.

Real criminals can walk the streets because they can explain why they did what they did — remember that serial killer? Yeah, the hot one. No, the other hot one? Well, he did it because he had a sad childhood, an abusive dad, and a nutty sister. When Anna has an excuse that good, we’ll consider it.
