Honoring Abigail
For Chad and Gabi, however, the moment is extremely serious. Pressed together, naked body to naked body, their characters are faced with conflicted feelings – knowing they can’t be together because of Chad’s marriage to Abigail (Marci Miller), yet having feelings for one another nonetheless.
“It is a very tense situation, and they’re naked. It was definitely interesting to play,” says Banus, noting that she and Flynn made sure to keep Chad’s commitment to his wife present in the scenes. “Chad always kept Abigail in mind. You’ll see in the scenes. Her name is very much there throughout all of them.”
Professed Love
Yet, Gabi does end up admitting her love for Chad, because “they almost die,” explains Banus. “It’s an intense moment for Gabi.”
That revelation and the moments that transpire between Chad and Gabi while in captivity “add another layer to everybody’s lives. This is a situation where, when they get out of it, there are going to be a lot of questions for them. Their family members are going to want to know what happened in there.
“Are we going to tell them what happened? Are we not?” continues Banus. “What are we going to say? It adds lot of layers and lot of different pathways to more intricate storylines. There are going to be scenes and conversations where Abigail is going to ask them what happened. And they’re going to tell her that they had to do what they had to do to save themselves.”
