Philip may no longer be on Days of our Lives, but that doesn’t mean that one of his portrayers on the NBC soap, John-Paul Lavoisier, doesn’t have a lot to celebrate.
The handsome actor was born on March 12, 1980, which means that he turns 43 years old today! Born John Paul Seponski in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, he spent much of his childhood perfecting his love for playing the drums. So it shouldn’t be too surprising that after graduating from high school, he attended the University of the Arts in Philadelphia with a major in jazz percussion.
But by age 20, he left to pursue his dream of becoming an actor by moving to Manhattan. In 2001, he got his first taste of daytime when he played an orderly on All My Children. He went on to audition for the role of Rex on the now-defunct One Life to Live four times over three months before winning the coveted part. He started on the ABC soap in 1999 and would go on to play Rex for over a decade.
Along the way, primetime gigs happened on shows including Sex and the City, Gossip Girl, The Mentalist as well as the TV movie One Day in May and the feature film Placebo. After OLTL went off the air, roles on Flavors, Major Crimes, and Anger Management followed. In 2015, Lavoisier took over the role of Philip Kiriakis on Days of our Lives and stayed for two years.
More jobs came along, including roles in a couple of shorts as well as other projects like Ladies of the Lake, Crazy Bitches, Liza, Liza, Skies Are Grey, as well as Home Is Where the Killer Is with Stacy Haiduk (Kristen/ex-Susan, DAYS), Christopher Sean (Paul, DAYS) and Kelly Kruger (ex-Mac), and the late Kristoff St. John (ex-Neil) from The Young and the Restless. Most recent projects include Killer in Suburbia, Finding Love in Mountain View, and Donut Time.
Soap Hub wishes John-Paul Lavoisier the happiest of birthdays and many more.
