Days of our Lives’ Galen Gering Celebrates His Birthday

On Days of our Lives, things are looking up for Rafe Hernandez. In the real world, Galen Gering is also having a wonderful moment because he’s celebrating a major milestone.

That’s because he was born on February 13, 1971, in Los Angeles, California, which means that this talented performer turned 53 years old! Before becoming an actor, Gering was an employee of Irene Marie Models and a student at the University of Miami.

As his graduation date neared, he landed a lead role on the NBC serial Passions, which he immediately began shooting — though he did indeed receive his diploma. While at the supernatural-tinged soap, Gering was named one of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful.

Upon Passions‘ cancellation in 2008, Gering was hired to play Rafe Hernandez on fellow soap opera DAYS, and he made his debut on October 31 of that year. While still on Passions, Gering appeared in an episode of the primetime series Miss Match and the short film Mein Liebchen.

His other credits include the comedy program 10 Items or Less and the original web soap Venice: The Series. Between September 25 and November 13, 2011, Gering — and his wife, Jenna Hudlett — starred in the reality show Dirty Soap alongside other daytime thespians like Kelly Monaco (Sam, General Hospital), Kristen Storms (Maxie, General Hospital), and his DAYS co-stars Nadia Bjorlin (Chloe) and Brandon Beemer (Shawn).
