Days of our Lives Fan Favorite Camila Banus Celebrates Her Birthday

Life is never easy for Days of our Lives Gabi Hernandez DiMera. The romance between her and Stefan DiMera has been a rollercoaster ride filled with dips, dives, and tricky turns. Luckily life is looking sweeter for star Camila Banus, who has quite a special milestone to celebrate.

And that’s because she was born on July 22, 1990, in Miami Beach, Florida, which means that this talented actress is turning 32 years old today! An abundance of energy as a child resulted in Banus’s mother flipping through the yellow pages and finding her daughter a talent manager.

Soon Banus found herself being put through the paces as a catalog model, commercial actress, and telenovela star. While still a high school student, Banus sent an audition tape to the producers of the New York-based soap opera One Life to Live — and her efforts netted her the role of Lola Montez!

When the part was eventually written out, Banus relocated to Los Angeles and she soon found work as a guest actress in shows like I’m In The Band and Zeke and Luther. In 2010, Banus was hired to succeed DAYS star Gabriela Rodriguez in the part of Gabi Hernandez.

She remained on the soap until June 12, 2014, at which point she vacated the role in order to pursue other acting work. She subsequently appeared in episodes of Matador, Hawaii Five-O, and the Lifetime original movie Wishin’ and Hopin’ before returning to DAYS on a permanent basis in September 2015.

Banus’s other acting credits include recurring roles on Mistresses and Star, guest roles in Global Child, Snowfall, and The Last Defectors, as well as parts in films such as Almost Amazing, Marigold the Matador, Counterpunch, and Killer Caregiver.
