Wowing Days of Our Lives fans with his first solo guitar performance, Carson Boatman brought the house down at a special fan event. Playing an eclectic mix of original tunes and cover songs, he was able to showcase his incredible talents.

Celebrates Eric Martsolf’s Anniversary

Since August 2021, Carson Boatman has played a SORAS’d Johnny DiMera on DAYS, and fans quickly grew to love him. The wannabe filmmaker also has another talent: he sings and plays guitar. Boatman does as well and is part of a band called Day Players, which includes his castmates, Brandon Barash (Stefan), Eric Martsolf (Brady), and Wally Kurth (Justin) — who previously was a rock star in his own right, playing as one half of a duo with his good friend, Christian Taylor, in the band aptly called Kurth & Taylor. But Day Players has been wowing soap fans for a while through celebrity event coordination company Star Image Entertainment.

The booking agency posted on its official Instagram page: “2024 marks the 10 year Anniversary of Eric Martsolf’s first Star Image Entertainment event in Montreal so we want to celebrate with Eric Martsolf in Concert on June 1, 2024! Eric will also be bringing along some friends to join the party! Actors Carson Boatman, Peter Porte, Remington Hoffman, Bryan Dattilo, Kyle Lowder & Gilles Marini.” It also added Boatman’s solo appearance, writing, “On Sunday June 2, join Carson for an intimate ‘Acoustic Concert,’ ” along with the appropriate contact information after that. The accompanying image was an invitation with the event’s official title, Eric Martsolf Rocks Montreal.

Wide Variety of Tunes

According to a review by Digital Journal, “[Boatman] made the Days of Our Lives fans feel as if they were in his living room enjoying these original and cover tunes. His vocals were reminiscent of such country artists as Hunter Hayes meets Easton Corbin. His show garnered two thumbs up.” His set included Ride the Lightning by Warren Zeiders, I Can Still Make Cheyenne by George Strait which he remarked in the performance, “I like how the lyrics of this song are sad but also witty.” He also covered Willie Nelson’s hit Always on My Mind, and Dolly Parton’s timeless I Will Always Love You, among several others, totaling 12.

He ended his set by dedicating the song Memories by Maroon 5 to the late soap star Johnny Wactor (Brando, General Hospital), which didn’t leave a dry eye in the house and garnered Boatman a much-deserved standing ovation.

Martsolf was quoted as saying that Boatman “Enchanted the audience with not only his perfection of some of these tunes but even the slight chord changes that he didn’t hope would happen.” His TV dad, Dan Feuerriegel (EJ), cheekily quipped, “I am ‘somewhat’ proud of Carson. I know what he is capable of, so he is a good and talented artist.”

Although the few times he’s showcased his singing ability on DAYS in overdubbed scenes, we know Boatman has real talent and are happy to see him spreading his wings!
