Days of Our Lives alum Camila Banus scrambled to protect her home ahead of the Hurricane Milton. The actress shared an update on her status amidst Mother Nature’s chaos.
Banus, who played Gabi Hernandez on DAYS, shared a couple of photos and a video on her Instagram stories about dealing with Hurricane Milton that’s headed toward Florida. One of her pics was shot through the windshield of a car with gray skies above. Written on the image were several unnerving passages. The first one stated, “So update: Home Depot/Lowe’s/Ace/Walmart=No sandbags, no tarps, no cement blocks.” (Check out why Gabi exited Salem.)
Her next text overlays became even more worrisome: “Been waiting in line for over 2 hours to get 10 free sandbags and one tarp from the city (while supplies last). Storm surge is predicted to be 8 feet in my neighborhood. Prepping my house as much as possible. We will be fine, but the house will probably be wrecked.”

Banus had a glimmer of hope as her next photo was her holding a bag with tarps in it from the sporting goods and camping supplies store Rei, most likely in Tampa. She wrote, “Found some. They still have tarps at @rei midtown.”
Her video was set to the tune of Storm Coming by the band Once Monsters and was a time-lapsed depiction of her and her husband, Marlon Aquino, battening down their house’s hatches on the front porch, with film scratches overlaid for good measure.
According to Deadline, “Hurricane Milton has officially become one of the strongest storms ever recorded in the Atlantic Basin.” Emergency management is everywhere trying to help people, and we hope Banus and her family remain safe. (Find out what Banus said when she exited DAYS.)
