Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem, the DAYS mini-spinoff series that streamed on Peacock in September of 2021, is returning this summer with five more episodes, and it’s bringing back two old favorites many fans thought they’d never see again, Peter Reckell as Bo Brady and Kristian Alfonso as Hope Williams Brady.
The latest one-week installment of Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem will not only have Reckell and Alfonso as Bo and Hope but also some current faves we see every day, including Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans, Drake Hogestyn as John Black, Stephen Nichols as Steve Johnson, Mary Beth Evans as Kayla Johnson, Lucas Adams as Tripp Johnson, Victoria Konefal as Ciara Brady Weston, Robert Scott Wilson as Ben Weston, Remington Hoffman as Li Shin, and Camila Banus as Gabi Hernandez DiMera.
Peacock describes the new iteration of the series as such: “In an epic, action-packed tale that spans the entire globe, from Monte Carlo to Hong Kong, beloved characters from Days of our Lives once again go ‘Beyond Salem!’ as they trade the comforts of home for an adventure of a lifetime! Over the course of five thrilling episodes, heartwarming family reunions take a dangerous turn as a mysterious adversary wreaks havoc on their lives.”
Executive Producer Ken Corday is excited to bring the series back to NBC’s streaming platform. “We are beyond thrilled to be partnering with Peacock again to produce a second chapter of Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem,” Corday said. “Being able to build off of the storylines from Days of our Lives to create another exciting series for the audience brings myself, the Corday Productions team, and the cast so much joy. I cannot wait for the fans to see what we have in store next!”
The last we saw of Alfonso’s Hope Brady in 2020, she was leaving town to search for her presumed-dead daughter, Ciara. However, Ciara was found soon after and is currently married to Ben Weston and pregnant with his child, but Hope has yet to return home.
Writing her into the story seems easy since she is alive and well, but the last we saw of Reckell in 2015, Bo died in Hope’s arms and returned a year later in Hope’s dream for one short episode. How Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem fits him into the plot remains to be seen since Bo seemed really and most sincerely dead. Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem will stream from July 11-15.
