Made To Last: Is Eli the Right Man For Lani On Days Of Our Lives?

On Days Of Our Lives, Eli and Lani were both dating other people when things started going haywire.

She was with JJ (Casey Moss), and he with Gabi (Camila Banus). But then Lani (Sal Stowers) thought JJ and Gabi were sleeping together, so she did what any self-respecting soap-opera heroine would do – she ran off, tattled to Eli (Lamon Archey), and slept with him, for good measure. Ha! That showed JJ and Gabi! (Who weren’t even doing anything wrong.)

Lani got pregnant, and she and Eli decided to raise the baby as co-parents, nothing more. But then David Abraham died at birth, and it seemed there was nothing left to keep the pair in each other’s orbits.

Except work. Both are cops. And, uhm, now they’re in love, engaged, and preparing to get married. Yeah, we’re not sure when exactly that happened, either. Or why. Are fans on board with this relationship? What almost 11,000 voted:

Yes, 97% of you are cheering them on. Eli and Lani totes belong together. Primarily because you don’t know that much about either of them. Lani is Abe’s (James Reynolds) daughter, whom he didn’t raise and only met as an adult. Eli is Julie’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) grandson, whom she didn’t raise, and only met as an adult. But, hey, core families!

Also, they’re both very pretty, and they have that dead baby in common. So it’s a match made in heaven. Or, at least, Salem. Where nobody paid all that much attention.

Nothing Doing
Only a tiny 3% voted no. But, then again, just like we don’t have many reasons to want them together, we have even fewer reasons not to. They seem mostly harmless.

They don’t hog up too much air-time. They’re polite to their elders and they don’t frame criminals nearly as much as Hope (Kristian Alfonso) or Eve (Kassie DePaiva). But is that enough to build a life on? Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
