Melissa Reeves practically grew up with the eyes of the world watching her. She was a mere 18 when she joined the cast of Days of Our Lives, a soap which the actress has called home (on and off) for over three decades.

But how much do fans really know about this talented young lady? From her early acting jobs to a surprise run-in with the judicial system here are five fast facts about Melissa Reeves

Early Roles
Reeves first on-camera role was in the Sarah Jessica Parker film Somewhere, Tomorrow a romantic story tinged with the supernatural. From 1984 to 1985, she played Jade Perkins on the brand-new NBC soap opera Santa Barbara, for which she earned a Young Artist Award nomination.

Super Super-Couple
In 1985, Reeves joined the cast of Days of Lives in the role of legacy character Jennifer Horton. Four years later, Reeves was paired opposite Matthew Ashford’s slimy Jack Deveraux and sparks flew.

The romance led the two to be called a supercouple and Jack and Jennifer won the 1991 Soap Opera Digest Awards in three major categories: Outstanding Daytime Super Couple, Best Wedding, and Best Love Story

A Very Close Co-Star
In March of 1990, Reeves nee Brennan married country music singer and fellow soap opera star Scott Reeves. In 1999, the coupled played Keith and Becki Dilley in Half a Dozen Babies.  The ABC Family original was based on the real-life Dilley’s who struggled for years to conceive a baby only to learn that Becki is pregnant with sextuplets.

Law & Order
In 1995, while Days of Our Lives was in the midst of celebrating its 30 anniversary, Reeves abruptly quit with little to no notice.

The role of Jennifer was hastily recast with actress Stephanie Cameron and Corday Productions and Sony TV Entertainment sued Reeves for breach of contract. The lawsuit was later settled out of court and the money Reeves was forced to pay was donated to Pediatric AIDS Research.

Rural Retreat
In 2006, she and her husband retired from acting for a while and moved to a 5-acre farm close to Nashville. After a few years, they relocated to another area in Williamson County.

Their new 30-acre homestead was christened Revival Farm and has been an oasis for Reeves who rejoined the Los Angeles based Days of Our lives in 2010. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
