Just hearing Will mention his mom on Days of Our Lives (DOOL) reminded fans that Sami isn’t around to stir up trouble in Salem. She’s somewhere in Europe with her other kids. And Salem is… kind of boring without her.

Where There’s a Will… There Should Be a Sami
It’s not just Will (Chandler Massey) who needs his mother. (Who else, after all, would set him up to be “murdered” again by the guy who didn’t get the job done the first time?) It’s also Eric (Greg Vaughan).

Sami (Alison Sweeney) is one of the few people who can turn his frown upside down, even on his grimmest days. It’s Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) who manages to stop feeling sorry for himself 24/7 when Sami is around. And, most importantly, it’s Hope (Kristian Alfonso) and Rafe (Galen Gering). Those two are so boring without her!

Rafe sleeping with Sami while he and Hope were on a break was the most interesting thing to happen to the couple since the first day they set eyes on each other.

And, unless Sami comes back, 67% of you are scared they’ll stay that way… forever.

End of an Era
Sami’s time is past, counter 32% of the audience. She was good at stirring up trouble in the previous century, but you’ve seen all of her tricks. Over and over again. There’s nothing new to explore here.

All she’s done on her last few visits is shriek. At Marlena (Deidre Hall), at John (Drake Hogestyn), at anyone who had the misfortune of stepping into her path.

Things in Salem aren’t more interesting when Sami is around, they’re just shriller. There’s nothing for her in Salem. She’s run through all the potential men, and her son doesn’t remember her.
