Any time Ava resurfaces on the Days of our Lives scene, it means trouble for Steve and Kayla. Long-obsessed with her old lover, Patch, she usually devotes all her time and energy to snag him back from Kayla. But it’s time for Ava to move on from Steve (Stephen Nichols) and focus her energy on another Salem man: Philip.
An Unholy Days of our Lives Alliance
The stage was set for this unholy alliance when viewers learned about Ava (Tamara Braun) and Philip’s (Jay Kenneth Johnson) relationship. She was blackmailing him into laundering mob money through Titan Industries, and he had no other recourse but to succumb to her demands since he owed megabucks in gambling debts to the Vitali crime family.
Ready to Explore
There was a steamy tension between the two characters when they shared their first scene together – a mutual loathing that could easily flip into something spicy and sexual. And with Philip sure to be out from Ava’s debt once Victor (John Aniston) gets wind of his son’s predicament and bails him out, the timing will be ripe to explore it.
Finally out from under Ava’s thumb, Philip will find himself on even footing with the mob princess, while Ava will be able to see Philip in a new light. They’re both tainted and volatile, and, in some ways, two of a kind. Put them together and they’d have the potential to be an explosive Salem power couple.
Enter Chloe
Imagine the havoc the unbridled Ava and Philip could wreak together if they joined forces? Having Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) in the mix would make things an intriguing triangle since Philip will always have a soft spot for his old high school girlfriend.
Meanwhile, Ava, who’s never dealt with jealousy well, would have a new rival in Chloe. It would breathe new life into the newly returned Ava as she finally moves on from Steve. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
