Allie Horton finally said I Love You to Tripp Johnson on Days of our Lives. But it was after he saved her life…from a zombie. Granted that zombie happened to be his dead brother who raped her when he was alive.
Who wouldn’t say that under those circumstances? Does she really mean it, though? Just how committed is Allie (Lindsay Arnold) to her boyfriend? What the fans told us:
Sure, she loves Tripp (Lucas Adams), 55% of you shrug. But she also loves Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens). Allie doesn’t strike us as a particularly decisive or commitment-prone person. She didn’t even want her baby in the beginning – then changed her mind. You can see the same thing happening with Tripp. And Chanel. Over and over again. Until nobody, not even Allie knows what’s true and what isn’t.
We’re taking Allie at her word, 31% of viewers counter. Tripp has done so much for her. Including forgiving Allie for accusing him of rape. He helps her with Henry. He supports her business goals. He saves her from zombies. Who wouldn’t love a guy like that? (He’s pretty easy on the eyes, too.) When Allie blurted out her feelings the moment was genuine and spontaneous. It’s much more likely she meant it then than something she has to spend time thinking about – like her true feelings for Chanel.
Allie is in love with Chanel, 14% of the audience insists. Or she’s in… something… with her best friend. The point is, she doesn’t know what that something is. And until she knows what that something is, she can’t commit to Tripp – one way or the other. Maybe what she and Chanel have really is just friendship. But until Allie knows that for sure, all the I Love You’s in the world aren’t going to convince the folks watching her waffling.
