EXCLUSIVE: Eric Martsolf Teases Custody Battle, Previews Nicole’s Return

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) star Eric Martsolf sat down with Soap Hub to preview some things that could rock Brady’s world.

“This custody case is a big problem for him,” he previewed. “His son is the one thing that keeps him very stable in his world… He has so much trouble with his love life but as far as his son is concerned, there’s no trouble with love there.”

So the thought of Brady losing custody to Theresa (Jen Lilley) is overwhelming. “And now all of a sudden, it’s blown up! He could lose him. Without his boy, without his rock, I don’t know. He might just blow up, literally explode on camera,” teased Martsolf, with his trademark humor.

“I think fans are going to be… very surprised as to the outcome of this particular custody case. It’s going to be interesting,” he promised.

Shifting gears, the actor was willing to discuss Arianne Zucker’s return as Nicole — to a point. Considering how far ahead the DAYS taping schedule is, actors always have to be careful how much they reveal but he was able to share a few interesting tidbits.

Referencing the fact that Nicole and Brady didn’t exactly part on good terms (he did force her to leave town), he alluded to something bigger going on. “There is a giant story surrounding her return that actually takes precedence over the squabbling” about the circumstances of why she left.

“There’s an issue that’s even greater than their arguments and their conflicts that needs to be resolved and only through teamwork, and a bunch of different players that this is going to be resolved.”

Martolf was quick to apologize for being so vague, but any tidbits are always appreciated. He did reveal something quite interesting that fans can speculate and look forward to happening.

“It’s a cool story that brings Eric [Greg Vaughan], Nicole, and Brady to the forefront and it also involves another player — someone from Brady’s past that comes back and it’s pretty mindblowing,” he teased.
