The Young and the Restless recap (YR) for Tuesday, July 10th features Ashley acting out of character, Billy turning to Summer for help, and Jack coming to a decision about his future as a Chancellor.
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) began her day by kicking Summer out of Billy’s office and criticizing his open-door policy.
She wants to be more involved in all the decision making at Jabot from now on. Ashley also demanded that Summer produce a document explaining what exactly she does to warrant her salary. (OK, that’s a reasonable request since, so far, the answer appears to be: sunbathing).
Later, Ashley urged Neil (Kristoff St. John) to sever his ties with Newman Enterprises, and gave him inside information on a company that’s about to leave Victor (Eric Braeden), and should be ripe for the picking by Hamilton-Winters. Uhm… Ash? That’s kind of illegal…
Billy (Jason Thompson) first lied to Ashley about Jabot, and then to Phyllis (Gina Tognoni).
Phyllis asked Summer to check out the shipping issue Billy had a few nights earlier – is that what Summer is there to do?
Billy confessed he made up the shipping problem to hide the fact that he’d been out gambling. He asked Summer to help him win the yacht back before anyone else is the wiser.
Meanwhile, Phyllis had her own problems, as Sharon (Sharon Case) insisted JT is still alive. Nick (Joshua Morrow) was still surprised by the women’s newfound friendship, but had bigger issues of his own when Brittany called to say the judge is about to decide Christian’s custody.
Testing Testing, 1-2-3
Cane (Daniel Goddard) stopped by to yell at Kyle (Michael Mealor) about digging up Phillip’s grave, and made the very reasonable point that even if Jack is a Chancellor, Kay left the company to Victor, not a blood relative. He won’t inherit. Jack decides to get the bone tested anyway.
