There’s a new generation of Salemites – namely, Claire, Ciara, Theo, and Joey (James Lastovic) – on Days of our Lives.
Since their introduction to the NBC soap, the new teen set has had their share of screen time and storylines — from Ava (Tamara Braun) playing Joey (James Lastovic) to Ciara’s (Vivian Jovanni) rape by Chase. Yet, after nearly a year, no young supercouples have emerged from the mix. Do the soap’s young stars deserve better material? Soap Hub posed the question, and the responses were overwhelming in one direction.
They Deserve Better
Having watched DAYS for years and seen your share of exciting young plotlines, 83% of fans believe this teen crop is seriously lacking quality material. Their stories have lacked buildup and a sense of direction, and, at times, been somewhat lackluster. Compared to yesteryear’s teen stories – think a young Hope, Jennifer, Shawn and Belle – the current ones have been a letdown.

The Kids Are All Right
The teen stories are just fine, according to 13% of fans. You’ve actually enjoyed the plots they’ve been given so far. You also believe young Claire’s (Olivia Rose Keegan) blossoming interest in Theo (Kyler Pettis) has the potential to develop into a sweet love story, and you eagerly look forward to it.
Hard to Call
The remaining 4% can’t quite decide how they feel about the teens storylines. Some days, they’re interesting and seem like they’re heading in the right direction. Other days, you’re not quite sure what to make of them.
