Abe said it better than we ever could: DNA doesn’t matter, only love does. Abe fell in love with Lani and accepted her as a daughter in his heart without asking for a paternity test when Tamara was her presumed mother. He’s not about to change now that some pesky biology has gotten in the way.

He’s a great dad, and Lani is a devoted daughter. Plus, who would give up the cuteness that’s little Carver and Jules, 62% of you wonder? It’s not like, based on Paulina’s (Jackée Harry) description, Lani could do any better with a father.

Of course it will change, 23% of the audience insists, but you expect it to become better. Now, Abe and Lani will be father and daughter not because they have to be, but because they want to be. And that’s the best place to be. They have to actively commit to the relationship and be more considerate of protecting it. They’ll be unbeatable!

We Can Never Go Back To Before

That’s a nice fantasy, 15% of voters dismiss, but it’s unrealistic. Now that they know they’re not really father and daughter, Lani and Abe are at much greater risk of giving up the second anything goes wrong. Every disagreement will carry greater weight. Every fight has the potential to become catastrophic. This is bad news, and you’re not sure Lani and Abe are up for the challenge.
