DAYS spoilers teased that it took Kate Roberts forever to say “chowder,” which was her code word to Roman Brady that she was interested in giving their romantic relationship yet another chance.

Here is something to think about, Kate (Lauren Koslow): If every time you guys pair up it goes wrong, and if it took you forever to agree to give it another chance…maybe you’re just not that into him. (Who cares that you have a son and daughter together? Those kids were conceived in a petri dish, not even the fun way.)

So who might Kate be into? How about…Abe Carver (James Reynolds)? We definitely saw serious chemistry there during the brief time that Kate was working for the mayor.
Kate brought out the best in Abe. Because she is the first grown-up woman he’s ever been around. Which made their relationship his first grown-up one.

We’re not saying Abe didn’t love Lexie (Renee Jones). They had a happy marriage and she’s Theo Carver’s (Cameron Johnson) mother. But there was always something juvenile about Lexie. Most of the time, Abe came off as a strict parent, rather than a husband and equal.

Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) is no spring chicken. But there’s an immaturity to her, the nervous energy, the cackling laughter, the girlish eyelash batting. Oh, and she’s a lying liar who lies. She let Abe think he was Lani Price Grant’s (Sal Stowers) father when, all along, she knew better.
Days of our Lives: Last Seen
Once Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) spilled the tea about Paulina and Lani’s connection, Abe left his fiancée at the altar and went off to drown his sorrows, with best pal Roman (Josh Taylor) there to provide moral support.
Roman is willing to do anything to make Abe feel better. Is he willing to admit that Abe and Kate together are better than Roman and Kate could ever be? This is the grown-up triangle we are ready for and we hope Days of our Lives is too.
