You might not be able to find Salem or Port Charles on a map, but that didn’t stop these Days of our Lives actors from upping sticks and migrating from one fictitious burg to the next.

Days of our Lives Graduates and Homecomers

Some of them stayed gone for good, and others made triumphant returns. Some found themselves hopelessly typecast, and others benefited from a change of pace. Here’s your list of Days of our Lives stars who made the transition to General Hospital.

Billy Warlock
On DAYS, Warlock played Frankie Brady, a down-and-out aristocrat adopted by Caroline and Shawn Brady who harbored a not-so-secret crush on Jennifer Rose Horton (Melissa Reeves). All in all, a decent fella…and a far cry from GH’s sad-sack AJ Quartermaine.

Wally Kurth
Before making the jump to General Hospital and assuming the part of Ned Quartermaine, a corporate bigwig with a penchant for sleeping with buxom blonde bombshells, Kurth was featured as Justin Kiriakis on Days of our Lives, a sly legal eagle with an eye for the ladies — many of them flaxen-haired.

Stephen Nichols
Nichols joined DAYS in 1985 as the brooding but ultimately heroic Steve “Patch” Johnson. In 1996, he switched shows — and networks — to become GH’s Stefan Cassadine, a brooding, sometimes heroic, ultimately tragic figure.

Mary Beth Evans
During her tenure at DAYS, Evans has played one of soapdom’s quintessential heroines…which made her decision to accept the role of GH’s Katherine Bell, a status-obsessed schemer, all the more shocking. During her six years on the ABC soap, Evans worked opposite Kurth’s Ned and Nichols’s Stefan. Her Katherine was bigamously married to the former and briefly engaged to the latter.

Matthew Ashford
Ashford’s Jack Deveraux was a former husband — and tormentor — of Evans’s Kayla Brady Johnson, the baby brother of Nichols’s Steve, and a brother-in-law to Kurth’s Justin. For a brief period in the late 1990s – 1995 to 1997 to be precise — the trio’s tenure at GH overlapped. Ashford played psychiatrist Tom Hardy.

Rick Hearst
Hearst’s Scott Banning was a slick record producer and legacy character owing to his status as Julie Olson Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) grandson. After turning the heads of several unattached ladies, Faith Taylor and Eve Donovan in particular, Scott bid Salem and the music biz adieu and settled into a prestigious medical school…Twelve years later, Hearst joined the cast of GH as — wait for it — a slick lawyer who turned the heads of several unattached ladies.

Michael Easton
Easton has played a plethora of characters on General Hospital — Michael McBain, Silas Clay, Caleb Morley, and now Hamilton Finn chief among them. But to fans of Days of our Lives, he’ll always be leather-jacketed Tanner Scofield, the smart-mouthed, big-hearted barback-cum-amateur detective.

Steve Burton
One can argue that Burton’s Jason Morgan is a hero compared to some on General Hospital, but his Days of our Lives character, Harris Michaels, was decidedly a wrong’un. Sure, he wound up genuinely falling in love with Eve Donovan — but he’d only gone out with her in the hopes of “scoring” and winning a bet he’d made with equally loathsome buddies.

Joe Mascolo
As Days of our Lives’ premiere baddie, Stefano DiMera, Mascolo raised all kinds of hell. His GH alter-ego, Nicholas Van Buren, alias: Domino, was equally shady but far less lethal. Both men shared a love for the finer things in life and had a weakness for the fairer sex.
