Days of Our Lives Star Eric Martsolf on Tate’s Kidnapping

The heartbreaking kidnapping story on “Days of Our Lives” might be more intricate than we think, according to the actor at the center of it all, Eric Martsolf.

More Than Meets the Eye
On the surface, the kidnapping plot seems to have an obvious ending. But, that would be boring and who wants that? The writers know how to kick story lines into high gear, so why expect anything different here? Soap Hub sat down with the popular ever-popular Martsolf to discuss the baby napping story that has the DAYS fandom talking.

As Theresa (Jen Lilley) and Brady do everything they can to find baby Tate, it looks like a simple case of Summer (Marie Wilson) out for revenge. Sure, we all know that Summer looks guilty, but is she? Martsolf laughed when asked about it.

“Drama, drama, drama! What are you going to do? Brady lost his kid again,” he joked. “He just can’t seem to keep an eye on his children.”

Tension Mounts
“It’s going to cause a big rift between Brady and Theresa, and it becomes a big whodunit,” shared Martsolf, obviously enjoying this new twist. “Because actually, when they start investigating, they realize that there’re more people who have reasons to break up Brady and Theresa than they initially thought.”

The Suspects
“There are fingers that are obviously pointed at Summer. There’s also fingers that are pointed at Victor (John Aniston), cause he’s never been a fan of Theresa either,” he explained. “The question about whether those two have been in cahoots remains to be seen, but I can tell you that it’s not a simple kidnapping story. It’s interlaced with other ulterior motives, and there are other characters involved that you wouldn’t initially have thought.”

Since “Days of Our Lives” tapes so far in advance, Martsolf obviously knows how things turn out. Is he happy with the story?

“I think it’s a really well put together whodunit kind of scenario.”
