Days of Our Lives' Mary Beth Evans on Long-Lasting Love

Popular “Days of Our Lives” star Mary Beth Evans is as in love with her husband, Michael Schwartz, as she was the day she met him 35 years ago.

Evans remarked in her latest Plankblog post that she knew Michael was the one the moment she met him.

“When I was young [all of 19], I met my husband when a friend of a friend, who was visiting for a weekend from school in Chicago, brought him to see a play that I was in,” she revealed in the post.

“What are the odds we would meet, fall in love at first sight, and still be crazy about each other 35 years later?” she asked.

The DAYS actress knew Michael was different the moment she laid eyes on him.

“For me, the initial attraction was simple. He was different from the laid back, surfer boys I had grown up with. He was so funny, handsome, and had a real sense of purpose. He dressed in East Coast casual khakis and Brooks Brothers shirts, which I thought was so cool and not like anything I’d seen in Huntington Beach,” Evans laughed.

“PLUS, he opened my door for me. That was it … I was hooked,” she shared.

“I followed my heart, with no regard to the possible pitfalls that could be ahead,” she said. “Maybe my youth was what allowed me to do that, because now it seems, for most people beyond the teenage years, it becomes much more complicated,” she mused.
