Days of our Lives star Camila Banus had some downtime recently and used it to connect with some of her fans on social media.
Camila Banus Has The Answers
The portrayer of Gabi Hernandez took to her Instagram Stories, which only stay up for 24 hours, to answer some questions sent in by those following her account. One of the questions asked her how it felt to represent Latinas in daytime soaps. This is a subject near and dear to the actress.
“It’s so amazing to play Gabriela Josephina Hernandez on national television,” Banus answered. “Honest to God, didn’t even know English soap operas existed till I was about 10 years old.”
She continued that she wished there was more Latina representation on DAYS, but considers herself privileged to be able to have been part of making the Hernandez family core Salem residents.
“For the last 10 years, it’s been my absolute honor to play Gabriella,” she said. Speaking of the Hernandez family, the next fan question asked her who she would bring back to the show if she could choose one person and Banus answered A Martinez, who played her father Eduardo.
Although the actor was back to DAYS briefly this year, many fans join Banus in wishing he would make a full-time return to the Salem canvas.
Another fan asked Banus if she had any Lifetime movies coming up. The actress appeared in Killer Caregiver in 2018 and also Wishin’ and Hopin’ in 2014. “Not sure of the exact date, but A Bride’s Nightmare is coming soon,” she answered.
The thriller, featuring Banus and Brittany Underwood (One Life to Live’s Langston Wilde), tells the story of a woman kidnapped on the day of her wedding by her fiancé’s delusional ex-girlfriend and does everything within her power to escape. But there’s more to the kidnapping than she originally believed.
As for what’s ahead for Gabi in Salem, thinks aren’t looking great for a reunion with Jake (Brandon Barash), now that he has Kate (Lauren Koslow) in his life, but we bet Gabi won’t just sit by and let herself be replaced. What will she do next? Stay tuned! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
