Arianne Zucker’s Days of our Lives alter ego Nicole Walker has gotten into some crazy predicaments since first coming on the Salem canvas in 1998. But in her latest project, the actress is dealing with something new—UFOs.
Zucker is one of the stars of the upcoming sci-fi feature, Monsters Of California, directed by former Blink 182 frontman, Tom DeLonge and written by Tom and Ian Miller. She posted a photo from the set of the film on her Instagram account.
“What an amazing week working on #MonstersOFCalifornia Lucky me!” the actress wrote. “Thanks to an amazing cast and crew! You made it special!”
In the film, Jack Samson stars as Dallas Edwards, who gathers his crew of friends to “search for meaning behind a barrage of mysterious paranormal events that may have ties to deep government secrets plaguing the Los Angeles area.”
The movie also stars Richard Kind (Mad About You), Casper Van Dien (Starship Troopers), and Gabrielle Haugh (Jeepers Creepers 3).
DeLonge, who now leads the band Angels & Airwaves, has talked extensively about the film on his Instagram page, previewing that it features skateboarding culture, UFOs, and other things that he’s long been interested in.
“I have been playing this story in my dreams for decades,” he wrote. “It represents all aspects of my strange existence, including growing up in San Diego suburbia as a disaffected teenage skateboarder. I had a tight tribe of friends who never missed an opportunity to piss people off and made me laugh so hard I would cry. The camaraderie, curiosity, angst, and irreverence is everything that lead me to Blink-182, and this story is layered with my obsession [with it].”
This isn’t the rocker’s first entry into the directing world, either, as his short film, Poet Anderson, won Best Animated Short Film at the Toronto International Short Film Festival. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
