The Days of Our Lives recap for Wednesday, June 17, 2020, features Gwen showing her hand, Claire doing the right thing (eventually), and Ciara coming up with a dangerous plan to save Gabi.
John (Drake Hogestyn) had a talk with his granddaughter about lying and went to make her some tea. Leaving her alone at all was a mistake. No sooner was he out of the room than Gwen (Emily O’Brien) came knocking and Claire (Olivia Rose Keegan) hid the baddie in her bedroom.
Gwen confronted Claire about spilling the beans on her whereabouts. Claire told Gwen about Gabi. They need what Gwen is hiding. Oh, yes, Gwen does have the goods. In fact, she had it on her. This all turned out to be a wild chase for a very expensive copy of Crime and Punishment. Yep, a book. Not drugs, guns, or anything nefarious. A book.
In a surprise move, Claire decided to out her visitor to her grandparents. She agreed to no more secrets and she meant it. She marched Gwen into the living room and announced they had a guest. Marlena (Deidre Hall) and John were shocked, to say the least.
Meanwhile, Gabi (unaware she was kidnapped because of a piece of literature) did her best to save herself using the art of seduction. She even talked Jimmy into untying her. She leaned in for a kiss but kneed him where it counted instead. Unfortunately, she stuck around too long and became a hostage again.
Jake (Brandon Barash) finally told Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara (Victoria Konefal) the men were looking for a book. Well, Ciara can help. They ran to the mansion to get Grandpa Victor’s copy of the old book. It looked the same, it felt the same, they figured it was the same. Off they went to dupe the kidnapper and take back Gabi.
Little did anyone know Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani (Sal Stowers) were stalking their every move. They followed them to the inn, stuck close when they left, and traced them to the mansion. Poor Lani had to fight some morning sickness to keep on track with this task.
Meanwhile, Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jen (Melissa Reeves) had dinner the kids helped make (popcorn and candy) and tried to plan a honeymoon for themselves. They thought about going without the kids but who could leave Thomas and Charlotte at a time like this? In the end, they decided not to take off. They decided to make tonight their special night. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
