Everybody’s got an opinion…especially where their favorite daytime drama is concerned – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of Our Lives week that was.
Is DAYS trying to stealthily script some type of “Good Charlie”/”Bad Charlie” story arc that will see the character eventually redeemed and forgiven for his violation of Allie (Lindsay Arnold)? This soap does have a propensity for romanticizing the villain – we’re looking at you Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols), Xander (Paul Telfer), and Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson).
We ask because we’ve noticed that Charlie’s characterization when donning his glasses vs. when he’s sans the glasses is almost night and day. Bespectacled Charlie is uber sweet, oh so polite and self-effacing, and just so seemingly earnest. Unadorned Charlie is bad, bad news. He hits people over the head with objet d’art and holds them hostage for days on end.
The one crystal clear thing is that Charlie is guilty as sin of raping Allie. And his illegally acquired toothbrush is about to prove that to every Salemite who ever bad-mouthed and/or threatened to kill Tripp (Lucas Adams). The streets are about to be literally congested with throngs of people lining up to issue their apologies…and Kayla Brady had better be at the head of the crowd.
After going to all that trouble of blackmailing Chad (Billy Flynn) into ensuring her continued stay at the DiMera mansion, why exactly did Gwen (Emily O’Brien) go ahead and reveal all to Abby (Marci Miller)?
So, Vivian Alamain (Linda Dano) is the mastermind of the Babies Grant kidnapping. Makes sense. But what doesn’t make much sense, is the fact that Vivian has been secretly plotting the abduction of Lani’s (Sal Stowers) children instead of bonding with HER actual child, Jake (Brandon Barash). We get that he’s not as couth as Stefan was, but she seemed to love him all the same the last time she was in town.
Do you give much credence to Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) claim that he can hold out for Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) to serve her full stint in Statesville? Or is it just a matter of time before he and Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) are rekindling that romantic spark that exists between them?
Let’s have a vote for DAYS’ most unlikely friendship. Jennifer (Cady McClain) and Bonnie (Judi Evans), Jennifer and Kate (Lauren Koslow), Kristen and Lani, Kristen and Ava (Tamara Braun), or Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Ava?
