Ben comes up with a desperate plan to keep Ciara in Salem when Theo refuses to help persuade her not to go to South Africa with him on Days of our Lives. It’s a last-ditch effort to keep the woman he loves from leaving him and a dangerous one. Ben’s portrayer, Robert Scott Wilson, previews all the upcoming action for Soap Hub.
Robert Scott Wilson Says Ben’s A Man with a Plan
“Ben’s got a lot of tricks up his sleeve, and they’re all not that calm,” admits Robert Scott Wilson with a laugh. “He has this plan to do something that’s kind of extreme and kind of aggressive and kind of scary.”
He plots to take Ciara (Victoria Konefal) back to the cabin where they first got to know each other and connected — after he rescued her from her motorcycle accident — no matter how he has to get her there.
“Ben goes to see her, and he pretty much is going to kidnap Ciara,” explains Wilson. “He’s going to try and jog her memory and take her to a place that will remind her of who he is.”
Change of Heart
However, when he comes face-to-face with Ciara, he has a change of heart. And, instead, Ben makes a surprising decision.
“When the door opens and Ben sees her, he just stops himself,” notes Wilson. “He realizes that sometimes you have to let the one you love go. And Ben decides to let her go.”
Moment to Remember
But before he does, the estranged couple shares a touching exchange. “Ben offers something to Ciara for her to leave with. He pretty much gives her her [engagement] ring back, something for her to hang onto,” says Wilson, referring to the washer he initially gave her. “It’s the ‘ring’ that belonged to her father.”
The gesture affects Ciara, and “they have this moment where maybe she connects with him a little bit, but she’s afraid to lean into it,” explains Wilson. “Even though she doesn’t want to believe she loves this guy, she sees this man trying to make an impression on her and trying to get her to remember something. Ben sees a slight glimmer of hope in the back of her eyes. But then she leaves, and that’s it.
“Ben’s devastated and has lost all hope,” the actor continues. “He has to regain his composure after Ciara leaves. He has to get back on track and try to get his life back. Of course, there’s always going to be some hope somewhere in him, but he’s absolutely crushed and finds himself in a very vulnerable position.” Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
