The Days of our Lives recaps for July 19 – July 23, 2021, featuring a plethora of marriages in crisis, a family torn asunder, a woman on an apology tour, and so much more.
Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) stunned Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) and the guests assembled at Eric and Nicole Walker Brady’s (Arianne Zucker) wedding reception by claiming that he slept with the woman of the hour.
Eric punched Xander in the face, and the gatecrasher was summarily shown the door. When Eric asked Nicole if the allegation was true, she tearfully admitted that it was. Eric made a hasty exit, and Nicole followed – but she made a point to publicly insinuate that rival Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) had an adulterous secret all her own.
Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) swung by the Horton abode to apologize for her recent actions, in-person, to Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
Afterward, she tracked down Abe Carver (James Reynolds), Lani Grant (Sal Stowers), and Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson), and revealed that she’s putting a stop to the demolition of the Horton Town Square. Lani is flabbergasted when she realizes that Abe is considering giving her aunt the benefit of the doubt.
Nicole and Eric reckoned with the former’s affair and decided that it would be best for the both of them if Eric simply returned to Africa.
Meanwhile, Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) confided in Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) that she and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) shared yet another kiss, and then Allie rejected her in favor of Tripp Dalton (Lucas Adams).
Later, Chanel ran into Paulina who promised that her daughter’s dreams of opening her own bakery would soon be a reality. When Allie heard the good news, she congratulated her friend, then wondered if they’d still be able to make a go of it as business partners; Chanel thinks that they can.
Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) managed to convince a reluctant Allie to serve as her maid of honor; Ciara then shared that she’s scheduled her and Theo’s wedding day to coincide with what would have been her and Ben Weston’s (Robert Scott Wilson) one year anniversary.
Come the day, Ciara is bombarded with bad tidings: big brother Shawn Douglas Brady (Brandon Beemer) is vehemently opposed to the union; her mother won’t be able to attend; ditto grandpa Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) and Julie and Belle Brady (Martha Madison); and her intended looses his best man.
Philip Kiriakis (Jay Kenneth Johnson) encouraged Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) to use a grieving Nicole as a means to deliver the letter that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) penned to her baby brother; Lucas refused to put Nicole through such an ordeal, but Philip went behind his back and handed her the missive.
Upon reading the document’s most salient content, Nicole made a beeline for EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and presented him with proof that his wife has cheated on him with her ex-husband. EJ is left fuming, but he returns home to Sami and acts none the wiser.
Ben conscripts Allie and Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) into helping him arrange Ciara’s kidnapping. Claire dons her aunt’s wedding finery and makes the trek down the aisle. In the meantime, Ben poses as a limo driver and collects a waiting Ciara.
