The Days of Our Lives recap for January 20-24 features a series of startling revelations beginning with how Adrienne died and ending with the reveal that Sarah’s baby isn’t really Sarah’s baby.
You had lots of questions and DAYS (finally!) provided some answers. Turns out Mother’s Day 2020 wasn’t exactly the holiday highlight that everyone was hoping it would be.
While a few Salem denizens celebrated one joyous birth (welcome to the world Baby Black) others mourned three deaths — five if you count marriages. First, over-anxious do-gooder Adrienne (Judi Evans) lost her life in a car accident.
Then baby Mackenzie passed away in the hospital. And poor Haley (Thia Megia) learned that she wasn’t good at giving bad news right before taking a fatal tumble down the hospital’s staircase.
And in case you’re a bit confused as to how baby Mackenzie ascended into the upper room one year ago (Salem time) but is alive and well in the “present” let’s explain. Turns out that the babe in question is actually the offspring of Brady (Eric Martsolf) and Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) who was switched by Victor (John Aniston) and Xander (Paul Telfer).
And when they weren’t scabbing the stork out of a job, the men were busy covering up the fact that an inebriated Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) was the person responsible for running Adrienne’s car off the road — thanks for that bottle of booze Summer! — and not a distracted-by-texting Will (Chandler Massey).
Or was she…? Does it make sense to anyone that Maggie would be driving in the same oncoming lane that Will was in rather than following the same road that Adrienne and Sarah were on? Why would she have passed them, turned her car around, and been driving in the opposite direction?
“Oh! What is that?!” Come on, Marlena (Diedre Hall). Surely after four children, you knew that is Kristen’s water breaking.
Who uttered the most prophetic and ironic line of dialogue this week? Adrienne with, “Life is too short,” Kristen who shrieked, “Some doctor better get this freakin’ baby out of me or I’m gonna kill somebody,” or Victor who bemoaned to an unconscious Maggie, “What were you doing drinking and driving? You could have killed someone.”?
Speaking of dialogue, was poor Adrienne’s last words, “Oh, I feel funny,” the most ignoble thing you’ve ever heard a dying character utter?
“Haley is dead. She’s dead.” Damn…Abigail (Kate Mansi) has the WORST bedside manner of anyone, ever.
“I just got a call from Mr. Shin. It appears that I’ve been ousted from DiMera Enterprises.” Well, Tony (Thaao Penghlis) you can thank Anna (Leann Hunley) for that one…no literally, thank her. We’ll wait.
Speaking of Anna, how in the world did she say “Dead is dead” with a straight face to a man who literally rose like Lazarus just last year?
“What experience does she have?! The only thing she’s ever done is run a little clothing company…and sleep with my brother.” Two things Chad (Billy Flynn). Firstly, that second point is fair and well made. However, it has been mentioned many a time before that Gabi’s (Camila Banus) “little clothing company” was one of the few continuous money making holdings that DiMera had. Credit where it’s due, man!
“I wasn’t always so awful. I wasn’t. I remember when I was a social worker and coaching baseball teams and leading church retreats.” We remember that too Kristen. However, that was over 25 years and one Eileen Davidson ago. Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
