The Days of Our Lives recap for January 13-17, 2020, features Ciara finally getting a straight answer, Kristen getting a surprise, Lani taking someone else into her confidence and so much more.

Days of Our Lives Recap Highlights

Having realized that suffering a stroke was not going to deter Ciara (Victoria Konefal) from her pursuit of truth and justice, Victor (Jon Aniston) decided to come clean.

But it wasn’t the revelation that his granddaughter wanted to hear. Turns out, Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) wasn’t the innocent man that he and Xander (Paul Telfer) framed for a crime — it was Will (Chandler Massey)!

Ciara To The Rescue

Their reasonings were explained offscreen — because, hey, the writers are going to milk this for all it’s worth, — and once apprised of all the facts, Ciara was asked how she planned to proceed.

And since she’s the daughter of two of the soaps greatest heroes, Ciara’s reaction was a pretty obvious one. After hearing that Will and Sonny (Freddie Smith) had signed divorce papers, she hightailed it to the prison and let her cousin know that he is not a murderer.

DAYS Musings

“I just can’t shake this uneasy feeling that someone or something is going to come between us.” Forget Celeste (Tanya Boyd), apparently, it’s Marlena (Deidre Hall) whose the real psychic.

Speaking of Doc, her reaction to being handed a firearm – “I don’t want your gun…If Stefano comes anywhere near me, which I doubt, John will help me.” – was just a little too damsel in distress-y for a woman who once plugged the Phoenix full of holes after he tried to kidnap her children, yes?

Speaking of Stefano (Stephen Nichols), was his reaction to Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) initial disbelieve at his current status – “Why is this nonsense? If you can come back as Nicole Walker, why can’t I come back as Steve Johnson?” –  simply the best? ” It’s always easier to swallow improbably story points when they are lampshaded with such humor.

JJ’s (Casey Moss) apartment, the Basic Black headquarters, SteVano and Princess Gina’s (Kristian Alfonso) hidey-hole — is there anything that single, solitary set isn’t used for?

Speaking of, why would JJ and Haley (Thia Megia) have moved from a two-bedroom loft to an apartment so small that the living room doubles as a kitchen and bedroom?

“Convent?…It’s clear to me that my daughter has been keeping me totally in the dark.” True, Abe (James Reynolds). But it wasn’t out of malice. Plus, Lani’s (Sal Stowers) finally let JJ in on the real reason she fled Salem the previous year and her ex is now on board to take down mean old Gabi (Camila Banus). That means it’s only a matter of time until you get your explanation Papa Carver.

“I know I’m not the easiest person in the world to live with. And, in the past, when she [Hope] was a teenager we did have our moments.” First off Julie, understatement.

Secondly, those “moments” include her fleeing to a boarding school just to get away from you and pursuing an older man you didn’t approve of who turned out to be a serial killer. Heck, there was a time she even preferred having Lee DuMonde as a stepmother — and that lady was all sorts of crazy.

“Ever since Abigail became a reporter, she finds conspiracies everywhere.” You’re preaching to the choir Kate (Lauren Koslow). However, Abigail (Kate Mansi) was right about Eve (Kassie DePavia).

And she’s certainly on the right track with her concern that Ben might be innocent. Is it too much to hope that she and Ciara will team up to clear his name AND spring Will from the hoosegow?

Who do we think is going to be the most likely candidate to donate bone marrow for a worsening baby Mickey? Would Xander be too on the nose? Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
