Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) may be the town’s Eeyore, but he’s a snarky one. Still, his attempt to bring Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) and Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) down to his depressed level only served to prove how terrible a husband and best friend he truly is. So, it’s off to Phoenix, where he’ll be able to celebrate in Sonny Kiriakis and Will Horton’s (Chandler Massey) good fortune…and no doubt bring the party mood down to about zero.

DAYS Recap: Marriage Council

Red alert! Code Blue! Austin Reed and Carrie Brady Reed’s marriage is on the verge of collapse – or, at the very least, they’ve had a disagreement; Anna DiMera (Leann Hunley) isn’t clear on the details. However, mama bear isn’t about to let a little thing like that stop her from hopping on the next plane to Zurich and putting herself firmly in the middle of the (supposed) marital maelstrom.

The only question that remains is which husband to take. She’d prefer ex-hubby Roman Brady (Joshua Taylor) – but he told her there’s no way he’s interfering in their daughter’s love life; therefore, it’ll be Tony DiMera, the current squeeze who’ll be riding shotgun…but only after he’s guilted into it.

DOOL Recap: Flight Risk

Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) may have scorched a breakfast casserole, but she more than made up for it by arranging a luncheon – and indeed an entire weekend – in Miami for herself, Abe Carver (James Reynolds), and Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani Grant (Sal Stowers).

And as for Eli and Lani’s adorable twin babies, Paulina had the great suggestion to foist them onto seventy-something Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and ninety-something Doug Williams (Bill Hayes) – they’ll love the challenge!

Opposite this, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black’s (Deidre Hall) Labor Day weekend plans were marred by John’s being recruited for a super-secret ISA mission – and since the lovers had no plans to be parted, they decided that Marlena, who’s proven in the past that she can adventure with the best of them, would join John in his endeavor.
