The Days of Our Lives recap for Tuesday, January 14, 2020, features suspicious behavior, questionable judgment, and a jaw-dropping proposal. Kristen covered for her father, Chad saw through Kate’s lies, and Eli made a decision that will change his life forever.

Days of our Lives Recap Highlights

A visit with Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) inadvertently turned Eli’s (Lamon Archey) life upside down. She asked him to check on JJ (Casey Moss) which he did, and that’s where things went off the rails.

JJ hid Lani (Sal Stowers) in the next room and needled Eli about his real feelings for both Gabi (Camila Banus) and Lani. Was he really over his ex? Does he actually love Gabi? Does he love Gabi the way he did Lani?

JJ’s intentions were to have Eli question his relationship, but instead, it did the opposite. Eli decided to prove himself to the world and got down on one knee for Gabi. He didn’t have a ring but he didn’t want to wait. And, of course, Gabi was only too happy to say yes.

Kristen: Lies and Cover Stories

Chad (Billy Flynn) tried to work his magic on Kate (Lauren Koslow) to no avail. She refused to sell her shares and claimed holding onto them made Andre feel more alive. She wouldn’t dare part with the last piece of him she had left.

He called her out as a liar and made it clear he saw through her games. She knew she had an agenda. She denied it but it was clear something was going on.

Meanwhile, Abigail (Kate Mansi) got a shock when she found Steve (Stephen Nichols) in Kristen’s (Stacy Haiduk) room. She was even more startled when Kristen admitted her father did come to visit.

She claimed he stopped by briefly before hopping a plane out of the country. Abby didn’t like the cover story but she had no reason not to believe it. She did make it clear she wasn’t after Stefano as much as Rolf and asked the pair for help. The doc did push her mom over a balcony, after all (or so she thinks).

Not Worth the Risk

Speaking of the attack, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) wrote an article making a public plea for information. Unfortunately, editor-in-chief, Jack (Matthew Ashford) didn’t like it one little bit. He put the brakes on Jen’s version of events and only agreed to publish once she took out all accusations and insinuations. He admitted he was afraid publishing Jen’s story could put her back in harm’s way. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
