Days of our Lives recap for Monday, June 8, 2020, features the return of Belle and Shawn, Claire getting an interesting piece of hot gossip, and Jake feeling the heat.
Belle (Martha Madison) and Shawn (Brandon Beemer) returned to Salem to discuss their wayward daughter. Is she ready to come home? Marlena (Deidre Hall) told Belle it looked good but Hope (Kristen Alfonso) discussed her concerns with Shawn.
Ciara (Victoria Konefal) and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) caught up with Hope and Shawn in the square and got the lowdown on Claire. At first, Ciara was concerned but she put her best foot forward. If she can give Ben a second chance, they should do the same with Claire. She decided to side with the doc.
In the end, it was Marlena’s assessment that mattered. She agreed to a conditional release. Claire could come home but it had to be a supervised return to society. The parents headed to Bayview to give the good news. It was all fine and good until Claire realized the plan was for her to go to Hong Kong.
Little did anyone know, a release could be a big mistake. It was clear (at least to Gwen, if no one else) Claire only wanted out to mess up the wedding. Claire claimed that was not the case but swore Gwen (Emily O’Brien) to secrecy that she knows about the big day. Gwen agreed and even gave her friend a tidbit of her own. Gwen admitted she wasn’t crazy and only acted that way to be locked up so she could hide from her ex, Jake.
Speaking of Jake, he was blasted by Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith). They went to the garage searching for Gabi (Camila Banus) and realized the mechanic was lying. The couple refused to leave until Jake told them the truth. They even threatened to call the police. Jake flipped out.
While Jake did not admit he knew Gabi was missing, he did stop them from phoning the cops. Why make things worse for Gabi? She’s out on bail, isn’t she? His cover-up only made WilSon more alarmed. Something bad was happening. The scene came to a screeching halt when Ben showed up. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
