The Days of our Lives recap for Monday, September 27, 2021, features Ben Weston contemplating a disturbing future, Tripp Johnson concerned about his pseudo girlfriend’s extended family, and Doug Williams fearing for his life.
Much to Ciara Brady Weston’s (Victoria Konefal) displeasure, Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) not too sure that he ever wants to have a baby with her; but it’s totally not Ciara; it’s Ben and his totally ridiculous fear that any offspring of his might grow up to be a monster who, for example, would strangle the life out a babysitter because she wouldn’t let him play with a tie. Poo-poo, says Ciara. But she’s magnanimous enough to table the discussion for another time. How’s tomorrow, round about the same time as today?
Having listened to Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) claim that her grandma had been possessed by the devil, Tripp (Lucas Adams) proceeded to mansplain why that was patently impossible – Dr. Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) was clearly suffering from schizophrenia; who knew that condition could give one dominion over bees and the ability to transform into a jaguar at will?
Opposite this, Tony DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) was blowing his nephew’s mind with the revelation that his life had been usurped by his psychotic, plastic surgery-altered cousin, while he sat on a desert island for nigh on three decades. To quote Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens), “White people are crazy!” It’s a sentiment that Tony agreed with in earnest…just as Chanel agreed with Tony when it comes to Johnny DiMera’s (Carson Boatman) possession film – the boy shouldn’t do it!
Try as it might, MarDevil just couldn’t complete the task at hand – which is good news for Doug Williams (Bill Hayes), because he came thisclose to being a goner. First, sickly sweet Marlena fought to regain control and keep the Devil from suffocating her friend; then, Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) barged on in, with Julie Williams’s (Susan Seaforth Hayes) request for a face-to-face. So, Doug lives to see another day (yay!), but Marlena remains a puppet for Lucifer (boo and hiss!)
