The Days of Our Lives recap for Friday, January 1, 2021, features Eli and Lani naming their babies, Jennifer and Kate bonding, and Chad wondering where he went wrong.
Days of Our Lives Recap Highlights
Eli (Lamon Archey) and Lani (Sal Stowers) have an extensive list full of names for their babies and Abe (James Reynolds) couldn’t believe how long it was. When Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Abe finally left the pair alone they decided the names should have meaning.
Baby Names
They threw around names of African-American icons like Congressman John Lewis, as well as Rosa Parks and Shirley Chisolm. Eventually, they told Abe and Julie the babies’ names are Carver Malcolm and Julia Harriet. Julie was thrilled she would be called Jules because she doesn’t want to be called Big Julie.
Jack, Jen, Jake, And Kate
Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Cady McClain) spent the night together and then went their separate ways. Jennifer ran into Kate (Lauren Koslow) in the square and apologized for suspecting she was still sleeping with Jack. She did tell her she knew Kate was actually sleeping with Jake (Brandon Barash), but Kate said that might be over.
The pair actually bonded over coffee with Kate telling Jennifer Jake thinks she is embarrassed by him. Jennifer asked if he might be right.

Gwen’s Secrets
Meanwhile, Abby and Jake spent the morning in his bedroom talking. She lamented about Chad (Billy Flynn) not coming home and he lamented about Kate. Poor Chad woke up with Gwen (Emily O’Brien) and didn’t remember sleeping with her, but she insisted they did. Then, he saw how many messages he had from a worried Abigail.
Chad felt terrible about everything until he got home and spied Abigail (Marci Miller), still in her nightwear, coming out of Jake’s room after a friendly chat. Uh-oh.
And uh-oh for Gwen too. Anna (Leann Hunley) and Tony (Thaao Penghlis) were discussing what she found in Gwen’s room when Jack walked in. He wanted to know what they were talking about and Anna spilled.
Jack didn’t seem surprised at all and was going through the file Gwen kept about his family when Gwen snuck into the living room. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
