The Days of our Lives recap for Wednesday, December 23, 2020, features Doug and Julie gathering the family for their traditional Christmas Eve festivities.
Claire (Isabel Durant) gave Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) a very special Christmas present from Ciara. It was his very own ornament for the Horton tree. She then convinced Ben to join her for the annual tree trimming. It would be an honor to have him hang Ciara’s ornament, too.
Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) were also out and about gathering their family. Doug convinced Eli (Lamon Archey) to break away from work while Julie went to talk Lani (Sal Stowers) into attending.
The couple was not too pleased to see each other at first, but got over their resentment fast. They went outside to talk and finally made up. They were each very, very sorry for the rift.
Jennifer (Cady McClain) opened her gift from Jack (Matthew Ashford). It was the hourglass and a note. If he waited a year to get her back once, he can do it again. Jen was touched. Not touched enough to invite him over, though.
The ornaments came out and everyone gathered to hang their names. Julie joked Lani and Eli would have two more to hang next year. The joke was on her, though. It looks like they’ll need those ornaments this year. Lani went into labor. It was off to the hospital for the parents-to-be.
Ben was too emotional to hang Ciara’s at first. He came around once he was alone, though. He picked up the bulb, and found Ciara a place on the tree. He envisioned Ciara being right there with him. It felt so real he was a little startled when he snapped out of the daydream.
Nicole (Arianne Zucker) opened the door expecting Eric but got Rafe (Galen Gering) instead. Adding to her disappointment was a call saying her husband could not come at all. Eric was stuck at an airport in Ethiopia. He may never get home.
Not one to waste a good dinner (or bottle of wine), Nicole invited Rafe to stay. They ate, they laughed, Rafe even read Henry a story. They made the best of it. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
