Days of our Lives News Update: Judi Evans Diagnosed With COVID-19

Days of our Lives star Judi Evans continues to recover from health issues doctors discovered after she was hospitalized following a horseback riding accident in which she was thrown for a horse last month.

Judi Evans Battles COVID

The Emmy-winning actress, best known as Adrienne and Bonnie on Days of our Lives and as Beth on Guiding Light, has been in the hospital for over three weeks. Her publicist, Howie Simon, updated the actress’s health status on his Facebook page.

“[Judi] contracted COVID-19 while [in the hospital] and she had what is known as the COVID blood clots in her legs and she nearly had both legs amputated on two different occasions,” Simon reports. “She had mild symptoms – fever, aches, a cough and the blood clots.”

Simon adds that a serious error made surgery Evans had even more painful — unnecessarily so. “On top of everything, when she went into surgery on one of her legs, they forget to numb the leg and cut into her leg while she was fully conscience with no numbing of the area!”

Not all the news is grim, Simon adds. “However speaking to her on Sunday, she was in good spirits and back to Judi ‘humor’ despite all these spiraling turn of events. She has said she appreciates all the prayers for her and they’ve helped her mentally, physically and spiritually! She just wants to continue to test negative on COVID19 before she can go home and get the rest she so needs!!!”

When DAYS did its time jump last year, it was revealed that Adrienne had died. However, the actress’s co-star Wally Kurth (Justin) has tweeted out that the actress will be returning to the NBC soap. Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check local listings for air times.
