Comings and goings continue to dominate the news out of Days of our Lives as yet another casting change has been announced. Get ready for D.A. Melinda Trask to look a little different when she returns to the Salem scene as Tina Huang takes over the volatile role.

Days of our Lives Casting News

According to Soap Opera Digest, Laura Kai Chen, who originated the recurring role of Trask, wasn’t available back when they needed to shoot these scenes back in February.

Next week should be very dramatic as Melinda finally returns and gets to let Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) have it for killing her daughter Haley (Thia Megia). As you may recall, Kristen accidentally killed her after giving birth to her own daughter, Rachel, and being falsely told she had died. Huang should be getting some meaty material to sink her teeth into as she goes toe-to-toe with Haiduk.

Huang comes to Days of our Lives with soap experience under her belt — even in Salem! She played Josie Jordan on the NBC soap from 2008-2009. Prior to that, she was on General Hospital where she played Sally in 2007, and that same year she was a prison guard on The Young and the Restless. Years later, she was back at GH playing Dr. Linda Chu from 2013-2014. In 2017, she played Dr. Campbell on The Bold and the Beautiful.

The actress also has plenty of experience on primetime, with recurring roles on Arrow as Captain Kimberly Hill, Susie Chang on Rizzoli & Isles, Tech Stacey Maris on Law & Order: L.A., and this past year she guested on an episode of Grey’s Anatomy as Roxanne.

She will be making her debut as Melinda when the show returns next week. Get ready to see sparks fly. Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
