Days of our Lives C&G News
Are any favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the near future? Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the Days of our Lives fold in surprising new parts?
Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.
The week of June 7, 2021
He’s back… finally. EJ DiMera resurfaces in the flesh on Wednesday, June 9, when Dan Feuerriegel takes over the pivotal role. The actor is best known for his starring role as Agron in the Starz series, Spartacus. He replaces James Scott, who portrayed EJ from 2006 to 2014.
The soap’s recently released summer preview reveals two other returns. Greg Vaughan is heading back to the soap as Eric Brady. He opted to leave Days in 2020, at which point Eric was sent off on a missionary trip to Africa. No word as to how long Vaughan’s stint with the show will be, yet.
Meanwhile, Carson Boatman will make his debut as Johnny DiMera, this month. His credits include the films Runt and Bedeviled. He was also once part of the boy band Citizen Four. Boatman replaces Aaron and Griffin Kunitz, who played Johnny from 2009 to 2014.
Heather Lindell will soon be wrapping up her latest reign of terror as Jan Spears. The character will, once again, be put into a coma.
