Who’s coming and who’s going from Days of our Lives (DOOL)? Are any of your favorite performers from yesteryear returning to the daytime drama, this week, or in the not-too-far-off future?
Days of our Lives C&G News
Have any new actors or actresses been cast on the show in contract, recurring, or day player roles? Are any well-remembered stars from other soaps, past or present, about to join the Days of our Lives fold in surprising new parts? Here’s the latest casting news from the NBC soap.
The week of June 13, 2022
Two stunning casting moves. Marci Miller has been killed off as Abigail DiMera. The move was made after the actress opted not to renew her contract with the soap. Miller took over the popular role in 2016. She left the soap after a two-year run in 2018, before returning to the show in 2020.
Meanwhile, Lucas Adams has been written off as Tripp Johnson, again. The character will leave town to move to Seattle on Wednesday, June 15, after saying goodbye to his parents, Ava Vitale (Tamara Braun) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols). The soap’s head writer, Ron Carlivati, told Soap Opera Digest that “this is not a permanent exit, at least from our standpoint.” Adams debuted as Tripp in 2017 and was written off in 2019. He returned to the show in 2020.
Abigail’s death will mean a visit to Salem by her grieving parents. Matthew Ashford and three-time Daytime Emmy-winner Cady McClain will be back as Jack and Jennifer Deveraux beginning Tuesday, June 14.
