Robert Scott Wilson was more than just a Days of our Lives fan favorite in the role of Ben Weston. He was part of a wildly popular super-couple. Viewers loved Ben and Ciara Brady, even when she was presumed dead! And now that they’ve got their Baby Bo, the briny boat, and are happily living in ‘Cin’…you’ve waved them a tearful but heartfelt goodbye.
DOOL New To You
But then…were your eyes deceiving you…or did newcomer Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) bear a remarkable resemblance to Ciara’s (Victoria Konefal) beloved husband? It was definitely you since no one else in Salem seems to notice at all.
But this was thanks to Wilson, who stepped into Alex’s (inevitably expensive) shoes and instantly made him different from Ben. No matter how much alike their abs — and faces — might look.
Beneath the Days of our Lives Surface
It wasn’t just the subtle change in haircut or the upgraded wardrobe. It was, instead, Alex’s endless self-confidence. Alex smugly held his own with Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston), Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker), and even Chanel Dupree (Raven Bowens) and Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold). He thought he still had a chance with either/both of them, even after they told him they were together.
The Other DAYS Guy
Ben, on the other hand, was kind of a sad sack. You’d think a serial killer would be brimming with self-confidence, but not our Ben. First, he killed because he felt bad about his sad childhood. Then, after Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) got through with him, he felt bad for…well, all that killing. Which he should feel bad for. But, as a result, Ben moved through the world as if he were apologizing for existing.
Alex moves as if everyone should be grateful he showed up. The abs and smile may be the same, but the swagger makes it clear who’s who. Kudos to Wilson for the differentiation!
