When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review

Boy, there sure were a whole host of missed opportunities on this week’s Days of our Lives, huh?

Were you in the least bit interested to find out whether or not Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) was telling the truth when she killed Laura Horton? Too bad. That thread hasn’t been picked back up since it was unfurled last Thursday.

Were you itching to see whether or not TR Coates (William Christian) did the unthinkable and snuffed out Beth Howard (Donielle Artese)? Curious to find out if Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) might worm his way back into Craig Wesley’s (Kevin Spirtas) affections. Too bad. Beth’s fate and the future of Lark or whatever name fans might have for Leo and Craig won’t be revealed until this coming week.

Did you go, huh? when Jan Spears (Heather Lindell) seemingly forgot that she’d been pregnant before? And why would Belle Brady (Martha Madison) give Jan exactly what she wants by continuing to distance herself from Shawn (Brandon Beemer)?

And did it bother anyone but me that Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), who’d been drugged and raped by Kristen DiMera (Eileen Davidson), didn’t stand up for Shawn and call Belle out on her poor, pitiful me routine?

Oh, and I also want to discuss something that wasn’t so much a missed opportunity as it was just plain stupid. Why did Andre DiMera (Thaao Penghlis) go through the rigmarole that was attempting to convince Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) to kill Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) instead of just committing the foul deed himself and getting it over with?

For that matter, why did DevAllie (Lindsay Arnold) go to all the trouble of drugging and kidnapping Ben and breaking Evan (Brock Kelly) out of prison when she could and should have just killed Ben and been done with it?

Admittedly, I did giggle when Johnny in turn tried to convince Andre not to harm “stone-cold killer” Ben seconds after Ben had poo-pooed Andre’s suggestion that he kill again.

Further DAYS Musings

* I get it Days of our Lives, you’re trying really, really hard to get me to want Eric and Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) to reconcile. It’s not working, but I appreciate the effort, and I know a lot of Ericole fans out there – trust me when I say I see you – appreciate it even more.

* Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) for the win! She’s got TR’s number, and she’s not at all afraid to let him know it.

Kudos are also due to Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) for not only shutting an amorous TR down but also shutting down and shutting up Tripp Johnson (Lucas Adams) and Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens).

And speaking of those two wild and crazy kids, I love them as besties. It’s weird. It shouldn’t work. And yet, to my eyes at least, their friendship is perfection.
