A Critic’s Review Of Days of our Lives: Messy Triangles & Hijinks

The author’s opinions on DAYS are his and his alone. They’re suitably scathing, fairly humorous, and normally bang on target.

When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: The Critic’s POV

The out-of-nowhere, Misery-lite storyline that Abe (James Reynolds) was thrust into was an…interesting diversion, but it’s gone on for far too long. Unfortunately, it will continue to go on for some time — which is a real shame. There’s milking a storyline for all it’s worth, and then there’s wringing it dry until there is no one in the audience left to care how the plot is resolved.

Further DAYS Musings

* As expected, Wendy (Victoria Grace) chose Tripp (Lucas Adams) over Johnny (Carson Boatman). Not so expected was Chanel (Raven Bowens) receiving that phone call from Allie. Is Johnny poised to enter into yet another triangle, and with this sister no less — AGAIN?

* Debate Time my regular [and not so regular and, possibly first-time] readers: Should Rafe (Galen Gering) have been fired on the spot for his dalliance with Jada (Elia Cantu)?

What do you think? Post a comment!

* Given her past dealings with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), how could Marlena (Deidre Hall) have actually suggested to Brady (Eric Martsolf) that he capitulate? There’s considering the feelings of a child, and then there’s writing a character completely out of, well, character.

* Would it really have broken the bank to erect a set for Chad (Billy Flynn) and Stephanie (Abigail Klein) that a) actually looked even a mite inviting and b) didn’t look a near carbon copy of Xander (Paul Telfer) and Chloe’s (Nadia Bjorlin)?

Also, what estate agent just hands over a client’s paperwork and expectant keys to a total stranger? And as for Alex (Robert Scott Wilson) moving into an apartment across the hall, this can go one of two ways. Either it’ll be an appreciable sendup of Three’s Company-esque hijinks, or it will devolve into something altogether more appalling.
