Just like she was when she learned Ciara would be the one to uncover Rafe and Sami’s (Alison Sweeney) one-night stand. “I get really excited when the storylines get juicy. And it’s fun because it gives Ciara a little power to play.”
A New Ciara
Konafel’s Ciara has been considerably more spunky and powerful than her predecessor, Vivian Jovanni. The actress admits she made a conscious choice to create her own version of Bo and Hope’s daughter.
“I kind of put it out my head [that I was replacing someone] and ran with it,” notes Konafel. “I didn’t do any research on the previous Ciaras, because I wanted the character to be my own.
“So I just let it roll with me, and I found pieces of Ciara that weren’t there before. She’s got fire… She’s very strong and determined and independent. I think she’s a great example for anyone to look up to.”
Biker Girl
Konafel knew that would be the case the minute she made her Days of Our Lives debut, roaring back into Salem on a motorcycle.
“I loved that. It was so bad ass,” she announces with a smile. “And Ciara is Bo Brady’s daughter.”
But has Konafel ever ridden a motorcycle before in real life?
“I’ve ridden a Vespa,” notes Konafel. “I’m not sure if that counts as a motorcycle, but it was definitely fun.”
Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for air times.
