Joe Mascolo and Wife Patricia
The soap and entertainment world lost a legend last week and mourned throughout the weekend. News of Joseph Mascolo’s death rang through the daytime industry as stars and others he worked with shared memories and condolences.
The actor’s wife also took to social media to post a special tribute to her husband. Read the words of Patricia Schultz-Mascolo below.
“I lost a very special person yesterday, my husband, Joseph Mascolo. Most people know him as Stefano DiMera, the evil villain on the daytime drama “Days of Our Lives.” Life with Joseph was a roller coaster!
He was a big, boisterous Italian, the oldest child and only son, a musician, actor and basically a hugely talented, multi-faceted man! He also could be gentle, loving, outrageous and lots of fun. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease four years. I choose to remember the happy times, the fun times, before the illness took a hold of him and changed him.
I am happy to know that he is now with God and in peace but I’m going to miss him every day!!!”
